TWO EVENTS IN ONE DAY!

Once again Techgirlz is partnering with the Scratch Team at Penn School of Education to bring you an Introduction and Intermediate Level with Scratch!

12:00-2:00 PM – Scratch Introduction: Making Animations, Art, and Video Games
Ever wanted to make animations, interactive stories, moving artwork, or video games? In this workshop, we will use Scratch to make all of them! Scratch is a visual programming environment (http://scratch.mit.edu) where you can make images move, interact, grow, fade, and even draw by themselves on the screen. Everyone will make their own projects in Scratch – but you’re also expected to get help from your friends as well, so get your friends to sign up too! We will do various activities to help you learn some techniques, but we encourage creativity. When we’re all done, we’ll all share our projects in the Scratch site where you can see and comment on your friends’ projects.
Absolutely NO  computer or IT experience necessary… the only prerequisite is knowing how to move a mouse!

Have you done a little in Scratch and want to know how to do more? This workshop is for girls who have already worked in Scratch before (for instance, attending a prior TechGirlz workshop).  In this workshop we’ll start making animated music videos.  Bring a piece of music in mp3 form that you’d like to use (on a flash drive or CD), and we’ll have a few fun pieces on hand.  We’ll make cartoons and special effects to animate the music. Sound like fun?  It is!

Prior TechGirlz experience or instructor permission required.
